Round Rock is making a good claim to be the sports center of Texas, with five national sports events scheduled to take place in the Spring of 2018. These events have been scheduled in the new Round Rock Sports Center and the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex. The five sports may not have the same level of recognition as college football, but the competitions will bring hundreds and hundreds of dedicated athletes and thousands of supporters to Round Rock.

One of the sports is Quidditch, and the event is the US Quidditch Cup 11. Quiddich is a recent addition to American sports, adapted from the Harry Potter books. A mixed-gender sport, it combines   aspects of dodgeball, rugby and lacrosse, and of course features brooms. Founded in 2005, it’s becoming popular.

The 2018 College Table Tennis National Championship is another of the sports. Fans of other sports should check this out. The athleticism of table tennis may surprise many. The event will draw more than 250 athletes from more than 40 U.S. colleges and universities.

Lacrosse is a vigorous sport derived from a game common in culture of many Native American peoples. Round Rock will see the US Lacrosse Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Division I and Division II National Championships. The Division I competition has a 16-team bracket, and the Division II has a 12-team bracket.

Another national championship hosted in Round Rock is the 2018 judo Senior National Championship. In Judo, a senior is an athlete aged 16 or over. There are a number of age categories. The event will be a chance for fans to learn about this sport.

Round Rock will also be hosting the national tournament for USA Deaf Basketball. This will be the 74^th national championship competition for men, and the 28^th national championship for women.
